Speaking

One of my favorite things to do is to talk about identity, technology, and organizing to interdisciplinary and public audiences. Below is a selection of talks I’ve given to broader audiences.

In February 2024, I spoke with Upwork’s user researcher team and the Upwork Research Institute about AI communication technologies! While the talk was internal, you can find a conversation based on my talk featured here!

In August 2020, I spoke about our research on remote onboarding as part of a feature on interdisciplinary research at UCSB on the local radio show “On Education.” Listen here.

In April 2019, I talked about unintended consequences of using artificially intelligent scheduling technologies at the final round of UCSB’s speed research presentation competition, Grad Slam.

In September 2019, I talked about how communication shapes what counts as “wasted time” as part of UCSB’s graduate division Lunch and Learn series.
